Emerging Futures Youth Network (501c3) works with and for the youth movement. Founded by a grant from the Annie E. Casey Foundation and United Parcels Services we opened our doors in 2001, founder Julie Caldwell has worked on a variety of project with different leaders and communities each committed in their own way to making this world a better place for our grandchildren.

2001 - 2008

YHYS Logo Golden Apple logo

From 2001-2008 We called ourselves Youth Helping Youth Succeed. Published a curriculum by the same name and trained older youth to mentor younger youth in community service projects. Won the Golden Apple Award for our program. Consulted with groups like the Chaordic Commons (founded by Dee Hocks creator of VISA), the Omidyar Community Network (received O.NET community award for best practices), helped launch Mobilize (Mobilize America’s Youth) with their founder in a frat house at Berkley University.

2005 - 2013

NEFTA Logo Elko Park

Elko Peace Park and the Universal Peace Wheel ( project was initiated in 2005 made possible as a citizen-community partnership with thousands of volunteers and over one million dollars contributed from local donors, the Nevada Art Council, State of Nevada and United States government. In addition to being an art and cultural park, it's a riparian wild life restoration project protecting its eight-mile creek. The project recognized by the United States National Endowment of the Arts for Excellence in Landscape design in 2009. Included the set up Elko Parks Foundation to administer the city-citizen partnership in 2007.


Peace Day Image

The Emerging Futures Youth Network Ambassador program began as an eight week peace program that engaged 22 youth from 19 countries. We teamed up with PeaceJam, Earth Charter, and Children of the Earth to deliver the program. It resulted in an International Peace Day live stream event from African, DuiBai, Europe, Canada, and the USA streamed lived out of Uganda produced by StandTall Uganda, Bavubuka, and Read My Lipps Live.

University of Nevada School of Medicine Logo Mongolia

Hosted Educational Learning exchange between The General Authority for Social Welfare service of Mongolia and the University of Nevada Office of Rural Medicine. Organized learning exchange program, visas, and curricula for six delegates from Mongolian Office of Social Welfare to come to the United States for a 10 day tour of health and medical systems, including meeting with our government Welfare Program directors towards the establishment of the first ever social welfare system in Mongolia.
